Do you know what’s worrying me?

July 26–August 23, 2019
L/A Art Gallery, 221 Lisbon St., Lewiston Maine

Do you know what's worrying me? reflects on and responds to the state of worry, as it is revealed through local history, movement, the creative process, and social, commercial, and political realities. While in residence at L/A Arts from July 8–25, Jonathan Allen produced a series of new mixed-media artworks and installations using inspiration and found materials from the Lewiston and Auburn community and streetscape.

Opening reception July 26th 5–8pm
Performance with choreographer/dancer Joanna Kotze at 6pm

Allen is a long time collaborator with Kotze and performed in her multi-disciplinary dance performance, What will we be like when we get there, on August 1-2 at Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston. Allen's residency and exhibition deepens the site-specificity and community immersion that is integral to Kotze's work.
